Can I obtain the written text of the audio meditation exercise you provide in the free course?

Unfortunately we do not have the audio in text format.

The words that you might have a hard time understanding (the part he always repeats is “Concentrate sense of awareness on… detect fine vibration, tingling sensation, feeling of warmth caused by circulation…”)

The most important thing to understand is that you can reach alpha and that you reach it every single day (for example, early in the mornings when you just wake up but have yet to get out of bed).

The alpha level is not a mystical spiritual level but simply a level of supreme relaxation and connectedness, where it almost feels like your body is asleep yet your mind is wide awake. It’s impossible to describe it because everyone experiences it differently.

Almost everyone who listens to our audio reaches the alpha level – unless they are severely anxious or stressed. In fact the biggest problem is not in being unable to reach alpha, but in getting too relaxed, to the point where you go deeper than alpha and hit the theta level. At this point people fall asleep and the meditation is no more useful than an afternoon nap.

Let go and don’t worry about reaching alpha. When you worry, this causes stress. Stress prevents you from reaching alpha. So relax, let go and assume it will work.

If you listened to the Silva Exercise and felt yourself go into a relaxed, yet fully conscious state of being – congratulations, you just reached the alpha level.

We all go into the alpha several times daily. For most people you are in alpha in the morning when you just wake up and again at night just before falling asleep.

Experienced meditators learn to remain in alpha while meditating and to use this level to tap into the latent powers of their mind. You will learn this too.

With the Silva Centering Exercise you just experienced the alpha level. However the goal of this exercise was simply to take you to alpha using guided words and bring you out again. You did not have time to practice any of the techniques described in this book.

To do so you must learn to reach the alpha level automatically without the aid of a tape. This fortunately, is very easy to do.

The easiest time to reach the alpha level is in the morning when you just wake up. So for the next few days we will ask you to practice the centering exercise in the morning.

After you wake up, brush your teeth, use the bathroom but don’t have a cup of coffee or shower just yet. Find a comfortable chair or bed and sit up straight.

Close your eyes and look up 20 degrees. For some reasons positioning your eyeballs to look 20 degrees above the horizontal line of sight seems to induce the alpha level.

For the first 10 days you do this exercise count backwards from 100 to 1. When you reach the count of 1 you will be in the alpha level. Once you reach the alpha level you can further relax yourself by doing the head to toe deepening exercise as described in the audio. Starting with your scalp, slowly move down your body and feel each part of your body slowly relaxing and releasing tension.

After 10 days you will be ready to make this process more efficient. Now you can reach alpha by counting backwards from 50 to 1. Do this for another 10 days.

Once you complete this, for the next 10 days you can reach alpha by counting backwards from 25 to 1. Again do this for 10 days.

On the final 10 days you will be able to reach alpha by counting backwards from 10 to 1.

Now after 40 days have passed, you are experienced at meditating. You can now reach alpha anytime during the day by counting backwards from 10 to 1.

During your forty day training period if you wish to practice the exercises in this book but don’t feel comfortable reaching the alpha level in the middle of the day you can use the tape as a guide. But remember to pause the tape when you feel yourself relaxed deeply enough so you can then practice the visualization, healing and other exercises described in this book.

Now let’s look at these steps in order.

Going to Alpha – A Step by Step Guide

1. Step 1# – Upon waking up in the go to the bathroom if you have to then hop back in bed but sit upright. Set your alarm clock to ring in fifteen minutes in case you fall asleep. Make yourself comfortable, but not too comfortable since you don’t want to fall asleep again.

2. With your eyelids shut, turn your eyes upwards about 20 degrees. Research has shown that this triggers more alpha rhythm in the brain.

3. Begin counting backwards from 100 to 1 for the first ten days. You can then reduce this to 50 to 1, 25 to 1 and finally 10 to 1 for each 10 day block. By then end of the 40 days you will be able to reach alpha by simply counting backward from 10 to 1.

4. You are now in the alpha level. At this point you can practice the exercises described in the rest of this book.

5. When you’re done simple count forward from 1 to 5. Tell yourself before you being, at the count of five, I will be wide awake, feeling fine and in perfect health, feeling better than before. Begin counting. When you reach the count of five you can open your eyes and begin your day.

6. At this point in your training you may only be able to effectively reach the alpha level without the aid of the tape in the morning. But after the 40 days you will be able to practice this anytime with ease.
